Women and swords...can't go wrong there, although I would suggest that a straight, doubled edged blade with a crossguard might have complimented the remainder of the composition of this piece a little better. That's just personal preference though.

I agree... The samurai sword seems oddly out of place with the perodical/geographical suggestion/implication of the rest of the image... She seems medieval anglo-sachson with her built and hair and the fabric around her waist - at least that's the impressions it leaves on me :)

Wow...make me feel amateur whydontchya. I was just thinking it would make the composition a little more symmetrical, although upon further reflection I can certainly see your points as well.
